How to set up your Galaxy S23 using Fast Pair

Fast Pair is an Android device feature that allows you to easily set up your new Samsung Galaxy S24 device. You can also use this feature to pair Bluetooth accessories such as smartwatches and earbuds. 

To set up your Galaxy S24 with Fast Pair

Step 1. Switch on your new Galaxy S24.

Step 2. Bring your old device close to your new one. You can use any smartphone running Android 10 or newer.

Step 3. Ensure that both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are activated on your old device.

Step 4. A Fast Pair popup notification “Set up Galaxy S24" will appear on your old device. Tap Set up.

Step 5. The QR scanner will open on your old device. Scan the QR code that appears on your Galaxy S24 screen.

Step 6. Select Wi-Fi.

Step 7. Enter old device PIN.

Step 8. Choose whether you want to add an eSIM. Tap Use QR code to add eSIM or Skip.

Step 9. Choose whether to copy apps and data. Tap Next or Don’t copy.

Step 10. If you are transferring from a non-Galaxy device, you will be prompted to download Smart Switch on your old device. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 11. On your S24, tap Allow on the Smart Switch screen.

Step 12. Choose whether you want to Transfer wirelessly or Use a cable instead.

Step 13. Your phone will search for available data. Select what you want to transfer, Everything; Just calls, Contacts and messages; or Custom – then tap Next.

Step 14. Tap Accept on the Google Services privacy page.

Step 15. Choose search engine.

Step 16. Choose whether you want to set up Google Assistant or Skip this step.

Step 17. The Advanced intelligence info page will appear, tap Next to proceed.

Step 18. Select and tap Agree to Samsung services permissions.

Step 19. Select preferred Display mode (light or dark).

Step 20. Tap Finish.
