Use the SmartThings Hub Dongle on Family Hub 7.0
Some SmartThings devices require a Smart Hub to function. The Family Hub 7.0 upgrade enables Smart Hub functionality on your Family Hub with no additional hardware, however only certain devices are supported (Wi-Fi devices from 2019 or later). To fully utilize Smart Hub functionality with devices that require Zigbee and other forms of connection, there's a new accessory for your fridge: the SmartThings Hub Dongle. Set up the SmartThings Hub Dongle
Note: To begin using your SmartThings Hub Dongle, make sure to connect it to your Family Hub. You can plug it into the USB port at the top of the back of the top-right door.
To turn on the SmartThings Hub function:
On your Family Hub, navigate to and open Settings, and then tap Connections.
Tap SmartThings Hub.
Note: If you are not signed in to your Samsung account, you will be prompted to do so.
Next, tap Set up SmartThings Hub. The process may take a few seconds to complete.
Then, tap CLOSE.
Now, any devices you already had added can use your Family Hub as an additional Smart Hub in your home. Or, if you want to add new devices now that you have a Smart Hub, you can!
