Why not break out your Samsung soundbar and stream some of your favorite tunes when hanging out with friends? You can use your phone to send music directly to your soundbar so everyone can listen. Plus, if you have the Spotify app and a premium subscription, you can use two or more devices to control the playback with Spotify Connect. Or, invite your friends to jam out with the new Group Session feature.

Connect your soundbar to Spotify

Your Samsung soundbar is the perfect party tool! Just make sure the soundbar has been set up and is turned on before you connect your phone to stream audio from Spotify.

  1. Turn on your soundbar and set the source to Bluetooth. Then, navigate to and open Settings on the phone you wish to connect.

  2. Tap Connections, and then tap Bluetooth.

Use Spotify Connect

Note: A Premium account is required to use Spotify Connect.

If you've got a Premium account, you can also use Spotify Connect, which lets you stream Spotify on two or more connected devices. All you need to do is connect your desired devices together via Bluetooth and your Wi-Fi network.

  1. First, check if Spotify is installed or supported on your desired devices. For example, you can use a phone and a tablet, or a tablet and a soundbar.

  2. Then, make sure both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

  3. On either device, navigate to and open Spotify.

  4. Select your desired song, tap Play, and then tap DEVICES AVAILABLE at the bottom of the screen.

  5. Choose the device you’d like to play music from. Then, control the music using the first device or second device!

Use Spotify Group Session

Note: A Premium account is required to use Group Session.

If your friends have great taste in music, you can ask them to help out with your party playlist using Spotify’s new Group Session feature! They’ll be able to choose songs and control the music from their device, while you listen on your device. The best part is that Group Session can be used anywhere, at any time! You just need to invite a friend to join your session within the Spotify app.

  1. Make sure your phone and your friend’s phone are both connected to Wi-Fi and have Spotify installed.

  2. Next, open Spotify on your phone and start playing a song.

  5. Tap INVITE FRIENDS, and then choose how you’d like to send the invite link. For example, you can send the link in a message, or tap More to see additional options.

  6. Wait for your friend to accept the invite. They’ll need to choose how to join by selecting either your device or their own device.

  7. Then, they’ll be able to hear the song you’re currently playing on your device! They can also pause your song or play their own song instead. You’ll both be able to hear each other’s music.

  8. To end a session, tap End session, and then tap Confirm. Your friend can also leave the session by tapping Leave session.
