Hear from Carol Chen, the entrepreneur who is taking the local fashion scene by storm. From fashion designer to CEO of various businesses, Carol is devoted to maximising her potential and creating value wherever she can. As a woman of many hats, multi-tasking is a must and her Galaxy Z Fold2 5G does just that. How did your journey begin? Tell us about your humble beginnings and how it’s paved the way to where you are now.
My parents immigrated to the US with relatively little. Growing up, I watched how they built business after business to survive and eventually thrive. Although times were often tough, the freedom and flexibility they were able to enjoy and the impact they made on their community ultimately inspired me to want to become an entrepreneur. My parents have been the best role models and mentors I could ever ask for, and it is because of their unconditional love and support that I am where I am today.

I hope to inspire more women to have the courage to live their best lives. Oftentimes it’s our own fears and insecurities that hold us back from chasing our dreams and sometimes you just have to go for it, even when you’re scared. I always try to live my life with no regrets and create value however I can. Hopefully, that encourages others to do the same because the world needs people who are maximizing their potential and living to the fullest.

As an authority in the world of startups, were there any so-called “rules” or “stereotypes” that you’ve broken, which has ended up paying off and paved your way to success?
There are always challenges being a woman in a man’s world, but I try to use it to my advantage to stand out or exceed expectations. I’ve also been able to win as the underdog on several occasions, proving that you don’t need a lot of money or resources to be successful – you just need to be creative and determined. Ultimately, I believe it’s better to make your own rules rather than follow them.

To me, success means being happy and healthy, doing what you love and enjoying your life.

How has technology changed/shaped the way you work now?
With phones becoming more and more advanced, I can do more work on the go. This allows me to travel much more without worrying about things getting done. As someone who loves to work hard and play hard, being able to work from anywhere is key.

How has the Galaxy Z Fold2 5G value-added to your lifestyle? Are there any features on the Galaxy Z Fold2 5G that feel fresh or novel to you?
I take a lot of photos and videos so having a camera that can prop itself up and keep you in focus is an amazing feature. I’m always multi-tasking between multiple apps, so I also love that I can see several screens at once. Plus, the giant screen is great for watching videos or reading articles.

What do you think is the next development or trend that’s going to be big within your industry?
I think technology and sustainability are going to be key trends in fashion as the industry evolves. So much more is possible with tech advancing constantly, but we are also becoming more conscious consumers. The brands that can adapt accordingly and take advantage of what’s available will be well-positioned for the future.
