Assistant menu
Show the assistive shortcut icon for accessing apps, features, and settings. Assistant Menu lets you easily control your phone by tapping the assistive menus in the icon such as access hardware buttons by simply tapping.

Voice access
When you have difficulty touching the screen, you can use Voice Access to control your device by voice. Try simple navigation voice commands like "Go back" or "Go home." Or try opening your favourite apps. Voice Access also has grid/number view that you can invoke by saying "Show grid/number" which subsequently allows you to use commands like "Tap 3,” “Scroll down on 7” and so on to control the current screen.

  • * This feature will be provided from One UI 4.0.
  • * Voice Access currently supports English, French, Italian, German, Spanish with plans to support more languages in the near future.
Answering and ending calls
If you feel difficult in dragging the button on the screen to answer incoming call, this feature will help you. You can use the Volume up key to answer calls and Side key to end them.

Some people find touch interaction to be difficult for them due to hand tremor. Touch setting features below can help you reduce mistakes and personalise your interactions for better control.
  • Touch and hold delay : Adjust the length of an interaction to be recognised as a hold interaction.
  • Tap duration : to reduce your unintended Tap actions, Adjust the length of an interaction period.
  • Ignore repeated touches : Set a duration to Ignore any repeated touches after the initial touch.

Mouse and physical keyboard
Personalise your interactions with physical keyboard to support hand tremor, pressing keys combination, and more. Also you can set your mouse to click automatically when the pointer stops moving with physical mouse.
  • Sticky keys : Press one key at a time for a combination, instead of holding down all the keys at once.
  • Slow keys : Adjust the length of a key press to be recognised as an input to reduce unintended interaction.
  • Bounce keys : Set a waiting time for a second press of the same key to help avoid pressing the same key by mistake.
  • Auto action after pointer stops : Make an action run automatically after the mouse pointer stops moving or when you move the mouse pointer to each corner.

Slow button repeat
If you are uncomfortable with the operation speed of the remote control buttons, Slow button repeat enables you to slow them down. You can adjust the continuous operation speed of the remote control to make channels, volume or moving list items more comfortable to operate.
* How to set : Press Home > Menu > Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Accessibility > Slow Button Repeat

Users can easily access the main features of the app. The main controls are on the side and the height is adjustable. If the controls are too high or too low, you can adjust them for your convenience.

Use your Family Hub refrigerator with voice control to fit your physical needs. When you are busy with cooking, say "Hi Bixby" and make Bixby play music from your fridge or read aloud your favourite recipe. Let Bixby do the work for you.

Accessibility setting tips

  1. Smartphone/Tablet

    Accessibility shortcuts - Accessibility shortcut allows you to access the accessibility features quicker and easier. (Use Accessibility button, Quickly press the Side and Volume up keys, Press and hold the Volume up and down keys)

    Reset accessibility settings - Reset accessibility settings to their defaults, separately from the other settings.

    Recommended for you - You can check what accessibility functions you're currently using and function recommendations for you.

     

  2. Watch

    Accessibility shortcuts - Triple tap with two fingers on any screen to activate your selected accessibility function.

     

  3. TV

    Adjust TV accessibility features with a simple one-touch on-screen menu. You can activate most TV accessibility features with Accessibility shortcut. Once enabled, start Voice guide and Sign language guide automatically. To display the Accessibility shortcut, press and hold the volume button. Alternatively, press and hold the mute button or press the closed caption button.
