What Is Samsung Smart View And How To Use It?

What is Samsung Smart View?
Have you ever binged watching a series on your phone and wished you could just continue watching on your TV without having to find where you were up to again? Smart View is your perfect solution. Watch your favourite shows on your commute and immediately continue on the big screen when you walk through your front door seamlessly.
Samsung Smart View allows you to share media from any of your devices straight to your TV, including photos, movies and even music. Samsung Smart View can also be used on any of your connected devices in your home, from your mobile to your PC and tablets.

How To Use Samsung Smart View?
It’s simple, the SmartThings app is all you need to connect your mobile to your TV.
1. Download the SmartThings app to your mobile.*
If you have a Samsung device, you may already have the SmartThings app installed
2. Make sure your TV and mobile are connected to the same network.
3. Open the SmartThings app on your mobile.
4. If you see a pop-up window, click Add Now to connect your mobile to your TV. No pop-up window? Just tap Add Device and select your TV.
5. A PIN number may be displayed on your TV, Enter the PIN in the app when requested.
Your mobile will now be connected to your TV and you can use your mobile as a second remote for your TV. You can also use Smart View to mirror photos, movies and music by following the simple steps below.

7. Use the menu on your mobile to select the content you want to view.
How To Download SmartThings?
You can download the SmartThings application on your device's application store.
The SmartThings app can be installed from Google Play Store for Android devices and Apple App Store for iOS devices.
- For iOS devices, iOS 12.0 or later is required.
- For Android devices, Android 7.0 or later is required.
How To Screen Mirror Samsung Devices Using Samsung Smart View?
With Samsung Smart View, Screen Mirroring is easy through the SmartThings app. Simply follow the steps below.
1. After connecting your mobile to the TV through SmartThings, go to your SmartThings app.
2. Tap on your TV in the dashboard.
3. Click the menu above.
4. Tap Mirror Screen (Smart View)

Can I connect my phone to TV without a cable?
Yes, that’s what makes Samsung Smart View so great. There is no need for any cables, so you don’t need to leave your device next to your TV. Get up and walk around without having to pause your favourite show.
If you’re busy, you can also Screen Mirror your TV onto your mobile so you can make sure you won’t miss a scene if you need to pop out of the room.
What TVs are compatible with Samsung Smart View?
If your Samsung TV is newer than a 2015 model, then it will have Samsung Smart View compatibility. Some older models are also compatible. Please see the full list below:
- 2011 LED D7000 and above, PDP D8000 and above.
- 2012 LED ES7500 and above, PDP E8000 and above.
- 2013 LED F4500 and above (except F9000 and above), PDP F5500 and above.
- 2014 H4500, H5500 and above (except H6003/H6103/H6153/H6201/H6203).
- 2015 J4500, J5500 and above (except J6203).
- 2016 K4300, K5300 and above.
What devices support Smart View?
Most devices support Samsung Smart View through the SmartThings app.
- For Android users, devices running Android 7.0 or newer are compatible.
- For iOS users, devices running iOS 12.0 or newer are compatible.
SmartThings can also be downloaded to your PC through the Microsoft Store. PCs running Windows 10 version 19041.0 or higher will be compatible.
