Healthy morning routines for
non-morning people
Break up with your snooze button with these eye-opening practices.
It’s 6:30 am. You finally manage to get up after two unsuccessful attempts. You're groggy, cranky and in need of a strong cup of coffee. Mornings aren’t for everyone, but curating a solid morning routine may help you start your day off right. Learn about some mindful and energizing ways to get going.
Gamify your way
out of bed
It's tempting to try and squeeze in five more minutes of extra sleep after the alarm goes off, but research shows that snoozing might make it even harder to really wake up. Avoid a rougher start to your day by getting out of bed as soon as you are awake. Puzzle alarm clock apps get your brain and body going by challenging you to beat games like tic-tac-toe or take a picture of your bathroom to turn off the alarm, ensuring you’re definitely up.
Choose your autoplay
If you’re not a fan of waking up to the sound of standard ringtones, alarm features on the Galaxy S21 allow you to choose Spotify-curated¹ morning playlists or podcasts instead. This way you can ease into your day by listening to your favorite tunes and shows, without having to search them out.
Let the light in
Seeing the sun at a specific time each morning helps keep your internal clock in sync by reducing melatonin (the sleep-inducing hormone) production during the daytime. If you're short on natural light at home, mimic sunrise by setting up a Bixby Routine on your Galaxy A52 to gradually turn on your smart lights a few minutes before your wake-up time.²
Try an endorphin workout
Ever hear of a runner’s high? Your brain produces those same feel good neurotransmitters during any kind of aerobic activity. If an early jog isn’t your thing, try a 30-minute nature hike or a heart-pumping yoga flow. The energy from that morning workout may keep you going through the rest of your day.
Try a 10-minute brain dump
Before you start work or head out for the day, jot down all of your thoughts onto a fresh sheet of paper, or with your S Pen and Samsung Notes app.³ Empty your mind like you would dump out the contents of your bag. Resist the urge to pause or self-edit. This daily habit will help declutter your brain, freeing up space to prioritize new tasks for the day ahead.
