What is Samsung Health?

The Samsung Health app is a fitness tracking app that helps you track your health and daily activities - but it can do so much more than that. It used to be known as S-Health, and it’s available for free on Android and iOs phones. Learn more about what you can do with Samsung Health.

What does Samsung Health do?

Samsung Health gives you the option to sync your activities to compatible apps, smartwatches, and even TV screens. There’s a lot that you can do with Samsung Health, but just to name a few, you can track:

- Food and water intake (including calorie tracking)
- Sleep patterns
- Blood oxygen levels
- Body composition
- Your weight
- Calorie intake
- Heart rate
- Blood pressure

You can also connect it to accessories such as blood pressure monitors, bike sensors and fitness trackers to gain a full spectrum review of your health and wellbeing - nifty, eh? Now that we’ve covered the basics of what you can do with your Samsung Health app, let’s dig into the benefits of each…

Activity Tracking

Samsung Health is loaded with a wide variety of exercises that can be tracked to calculate the amount of calories you have burnt. Whether you're running, swimming, boxing or even yachting, Samsung Health uses biometrics and connected devices to understand your daily activity - such as distance travelled, pace and calories burned.

Fitness and wellness programmes

We’re all guilty of doing the same workout routine time and time again - but Samsung Health offers in-app programs to help you level up your game. What’s more, Samsung Health can be synced with popular apps such as Strava and Technogym for a holistic approach to your physical fitness. Samsung Health also offers custom fitness programs such as:

- Balance training
- Endurance training
- Weight loss

Relieve stress with calming meditation programmes on mindfulness and relaxation - the perfect way to unwind after a long stressful day. Or choose to listen to soothing music on the Calm app to help you drift off into a deep restorative slumber.

Food and water intake

Samsung Health helps you develop healthy eating habits by allowing you to record your meals, snacks and even caffeine intake throughout the day. Helping you to keep track of your vitamin and nutrient content for an informed balanced diet. You can even check and log macronutrients (protein, carbs, and fats) in your meal or snack for even more accuracy.

Body composition

With a Galaxy smartwatch, like the latest Galaxy Watch6 and Watch6 Classic, you’ll be able to measure your body composition. Simply enter some basic health data about yourself and let your smartwatch do the rest. You’ll receive a full body composition analysis enabling you to track changes in your data on your phone via Samsung Health.

Sleep analysis

Samsung Health enables you to monitor your sleep throughout the night - and gives you valuable insights to how you’re actually sleeping. With the Galaxy Watch6 series you can even monitor your blood oxygen levels and snoring patterns while you sleep.

Menstrual cycle tracking

For people who menstruate, Samsung Health’s partnership with Glow exists to ensure that you’re able to track where you are in your cycle, and whether there are any irregularities that you should be aware of. It’ll account for contraceptive methods, and even estimate fertility windows and ovulation days.
