Tips for the best audio quality on the Galaxy Buds2

If you experience issues with audio performance or feel the audio quality is poor while using your Galaxy Buds2, there may be a couple of reasons why. You might be wearing the earbuds incorrectly, or the earbuds could have accumulated dust or debris. Additionally, the audio quality could be affected by outdated software, a low battery, or one of several other things. Check the tips below.

Note: Device screenshots and menus may vary depending on the device model and software version.

If the earbuds are not positioned correctly in your ears or you don't wear the earbuds properly, they may not work, or the sound quality may be poor. Please check the L and R labels on your earbuds to make sure you put each one in the correct ear. To make sure you adjust the earbuds to fit your ears and wear them properly, you can use the Galaxy earbud fit test on the Galaxy Wearable app. A correct fit with ear tips that fit snugly will give you the best sound and noise canceling effects. If you’re not getting the sound quality you expect, try adjusting your earbuds or changing the ear tips.

Check that the wireless network environments of the device are connected with your Galaxy Buds2. If the audio quality is poor when checked with other wireless devices in the same location or if issues disappear when moved elsewhere, there may be problems with the connected network environment. Problems with the connected network environment may result in poor audio quality or Bluetooth performance.

Tips and precautions for using wireless networks

  • Wireless network services may be disabled due to issues with the service provider’s network. Make sure to keep the earbuds away from electromagnetic waves.
  • To avoid problems when connecting your earbuds to another device, place the devices close to each other.
  • Ensure that your earbuds and the other Bluetooth device are within the Bluetooth connection range (10m). The distance may vary depending on the environment the devices are used in.
  • Ensure that there are no obstacles between the earbuds and a connected device, including human bodies, walls, corners, or fences.
  • Do not touch the Bluetooth antenna of a connected device.
  • Bluetooth uses the same frequency as some industrial, scientific, medical, and low power products and interference may occur when making connections near these types of products.
  • Disconnect the current connected wireless network and reconnect again.

If foreign materials such as earwax or debris builds up in the speaker, the volume may be lower than it should be with the current setting or the audio quality may be degraded.  Remove any earwax or debris with a clean, dry, and soft brush, cotton swabs, or other tools. Before cleaning the speaker, detach the ear tip from the latch at the bottom of the earbud.

  • Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the earbuds after use.
  • Keep the earbuds dry. Prevent liquid from contacting or entering the earbuds.
  • Clean the earbuds regularly to prevent earwax or debris from building up in the speaker and the air duct.

Note: Do not use anything sharp or use excessive force while removing earwax or debris. The microphone hole, speaker and the air duct may be damaged.

You may experience drops in volume or noise depending on the connected device’s volume. To avoid this, appropriately adjust the connected device’s sound. For this, please adjust the setting options for both volume and sound properly.
