  • What is the Samsung Trade-In Program?

    The Samsung Trade-In Program allows customers to trade in eligible devices such as smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, PCs, televisions & earbuds and receive an instant trade-in credit toward the purchase of a new qualifying Samsung device, such as Galaxy smartphones, tablets & wearables, TVs, and Bespoke Appliances. The instant trade-in credit for trading in an eligible device applies only to New Samsung Devices. View the Samsung Trade-In Program Terms and Conditions for more information.
  • Your trade-in device must meet the following eligibility requirements:

      a) Your device must power on, hold a charge (if applicable), and not power off unexpectedly;
      b) Your device must have a functioning display (if applicable) with no black spots or pixilation of any kind;
      c) Your device must have no breaks, cracks, or other defects that go beyond normal wear and tear, including but not limited to:

      • Multiple scratches, dents, or dings;
      • Water damage; or;
      • Corroded charging port, SIM, or battery terminal contacts.

      If a Cracked Device Offer applies, your device may have cracks anywhere, but all other conditions apply;

      d)Your device must not be on a banned list of any kind;

      e) If your Trade-In Device has a battery, it must not be damaged or swollen. A battery is swollen if your device screen or case begins to warp around your battery and bulges around the center.
      If your device does not fully charge, if the battery runs hot while charging, or if your device needs to be charged multiple times during the day, it could mean that your battery is damaged.
      Devices with battery damage will be recycled and cannot be returned to you.

      f) Your device must have a fully functioning charging port that is able to support charging & data transfer, if applicable.

      g) At the time of trade-in, you must be the owner of the device. Leased devices are not eligible.

      h) Reactivation Lock, Google Factory Reset Protection, or any other anti-theft locking software must be disabled on your device;

      i) Before sending your device to Samsung, you must perform a factory reset on it and remove all personal information.

      j) Your device must be labeled with an FCC ID to show that it is certified for use in the United States under applicable FCC regulations..

    The FCC ID number can usually be found printed somewhere on the mobile device. Sometimes it may be necessary to remove the battery pack to find the number. The FCC ID number can also be found in the user manual for each device.
  • Samsung will evaluate your device when we receive it, and if we determine that it does not meet the conditions described above, or if it is a device that is not eligible for trade-in under this promotion, then Samsung will value it at $0.

    If Samsung determines the device does not meet the minimum conditions, you will have seven days to request your device to be sent back to the original shipping address on file, free of charge, by visiting the My Orders page.
  • At its sole discretion, from time to time Samsung may offer to accept certain model devices with cracks to the glass on the front (and back, if applicable) as devices that are eligible for trade-in (“Cracked device Offers”). The Offer is only available if the Trade-In Value for your selected Trade-In Device displayed on Samsung’s website or the App states that the value displayed is for the specified model device with a crack. If you select a Cracked device Offer at the time you purchase your New Samsung Product, then the Device Eligibility Requirement stated in Section 5.c above will not apply. Samsung will accept your Trade-In Device as eligible for trade-in even though it is cracked, if and only if, your Trade-In Device meets all other Device Eligibility Requirements in Section 5.
  • We take smartphones, watches, buds, tablets, PCs, and even TVs. We also make switching simple by accepting a wide variety of non-Samsung products for trade-in. The types of devices eligible for trade-in may be updated at any time by Samsung. When you upgrade to a new Samsung TV, we will take your old TV away for responsible recyclying during delivery.
  • You will get an instant trade-in discount towards the purchase of new Samsung Devices.
  • Yes! When you complete your order, Samsung will ship you your new device. After you receive your new device, you have 15 days to ship your trade-in device to Samsung or your original payment method will be charged for the trade-in credit amount

    If you are trading in a smartphone or tablet for another Galaxy device, you can activate the new device and transfer your photos, contacts, and other data before you ship your current device back to us. You can do this by using Samsung Smart Switch, Samsung Cloud, a data cable, or any of the other methods described in the documentation that accompanies your new device.
  • No – leased devices are not eligible for this Trade-In Promotion unless you are trading in a smartphone or tablet and purchase the leased device from your carrier before trading it in. Check with your carrier for details.
  • If your trade-in is declined, Samsung will return your device for free upon request, subject to certain conditions.
  • Do I need to remove all the personal information on my trade-in device before I send it?

    Yes. You must remove all confidential and personal data from your trade-in device before returning it to Samsung as well as passwords, locks and personal cloud backup and restore accounts and SIM and memory cards.

    Please note that Samsung assumes no responsibility for any personal information you leave on your device when you ship it back to us as a trade-in.
  • Yes. Be sure to remove all SIM and memory cards before sending it to us. If you ship these items with your device, we cannot return them. Please note that Samsung assumes no responsibility for any personal information you leave on your device when you ship it back to us as a trade-in.
  • In addition, make sure that you remove all passwords, locks and personal cloud backup and restore accounts, SIM and memory cards before sending the device to Samsung. If these items are sent with your device, they will not be returned

  • Go to the Settings or Options menu, scroll to the bottom of the list, and check 'About phone', 'About device' or similar. The device name and model number should be listed. Otherwise visit the manufacturer's website for instructions.
  • No. You should only ship the device and essential accessories, such as the S-Pen for Galaxy phones or the charging case for wireless earbuds. You may keep any other accessories or cables, or else discard them following your local trash and recycling regulations. Trade-in value is available only for the device. If you do ship accessories back with the device we will not return them.
  • Send your old device to Samsung in either the shipping box your new product arrived in or a box appropriate to the size of the device you are trading in. Place the device in the center of the box, cushioning the device on all sides with plenty of padding material such as recycled or reused packaging paper, bubble wrap, or packaging foam. Seal all open edges of the box with packing tape. Be sure to cover or remove previously used shipping labels from the box. Attach the provided shipping label to the outside of the box, taping all four sides of the label with clear packing tape.

    For Galaxy Family Trade-In, each trade-in device must be sent in a individual box with the correct shipping label.
  • If you lost or discarded the shipping label, log in to your Samsung Account and reprint the label, which is available on the My Orders page. If you require additional assistance, please visit Customer Support.
  • You can have your label printed by FedEx. Save a copy of your pre-paid shipping label on your phone, tablet or laptop and take it to the FedEx Ship Center.
  • Yes. You can send your trade-in device by U.S. Postal Service, UPS, or other shipping method but you will be responsible for the shipping fees. Please note, you must include the bottom half of the pre-paid shipping label we sent you in the package to help us track your order accurately.
  • No. You should ship one device per trade-in label. We cannot offer a trade-in value for anything other than the one trade-in device your agreed to send when placing the order. You will receive a separate label for each trade-in order. If you placed more than one trade-in order or participated in the Galaxy Family Trade-In, please log in to your Samsung account and print the label for each trade-in from the My Orders page.
  • You'll receive an email from Samsung when your device is received. We'll complete a trade-in review and send you a summary of the device condition approximately 5 business days later. As long as the device meets the criteria for acceptance, you do not need to do anything else.
  • You may keep it but the trade-in value will no longer apply. Approximately 15 days after you receive your new device, we'll charge you for the full retail price using the same payment method as your initial order. If sufficient credit is not available, we'll contact you for an alternate payment method.

SFrom 09/10/2024 to 03/31/2025, on Samsung.com or the Shop Samsung App, receive a trade-in credit toward the purchase of a new qualifying Samsung television, select models only, when you trade in a television that you currently own (any brand, any size) Your trade-in TV must be available for pick up at the same time and location when and where your new TV is delivered.
