Fingerprints or touch not working on Galaxy Tab S9

When you are using a Samsung NotePaper cover, Samsung Privacy Screen, or a particularly thick screen protector you may experience decreased responsiveness when touching the screen. The cover may also prevent you from using the fingerprint reader.

Fingerprint not working

If you are using a Samsung NotePaper or Samsung Privacy Screen cover with your Galaxy Tab S9 series tablet, the in-screen fingerprint reader will not operate with the cover closed. Open the cover to use the fingerprint reader, or use your PIN, pattern, or password to unlock the device.

Touch is not responsive

Enable Touch sensitivity:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap  Display.
  3. Tap the switch by Touch sensitivity to turn it on.

If you are having issues with the S pen, check out our guide.
