
Soundbar or subwoofer makes abnormal sound

If your soundbar or subwoofer is making an abnormal or distorted sound, in most cases, it requires a firmware update, but checking connection cables can also solve the issue.

On your computer, navigate to the download center on Samsung.com

Download the latest version of the firmware.
The fix for this issue is in version (1011 for the HW-B650 series and 1010 for HW-B550 and HW-S50B). So as long as you get this version or later, it will include the fix for this issue. Download the firmware file.

Unzip the file and place the contents on the root of the USB thumb drive.
Place the contents of the unzipped firmware folder on the USB drive without placing it any folders.

Insert the USB drive into the USB port of the soundbar.
The USB port can be found on the back of the soundbar, please refer to the model's manual for an exact location.

Turn on the soundbar and change the source to USB.
Turning on the soundbar and changing the source can be done by either using the soundbar remote, or pressing source on the soundbar itself.

Firmware will install automatically and the soundbar will restart when complete.
The soundbar's display will flash "UPDATE" during the process. For more information on the update process, please visit Update the firmware on your Samsung soundbar.
