HW-A40R sound cuts out when connected via Bluetooth

If you are connecting your HW-A40R to your TV via Bluetooth you may have experienced the sound intermittently cutting out. A simple software update to the sound bar will solve this issue and keep it from happening.
-
On your PC, go to the support page for the HW-A40R to download the firmware.
Navigate to the support page for HW-A40R and look for Firmware.
-
Download the latest version of the firmware.
The fix is in software version 1014, so downloading that version or later will work.
-
Locate the file after the download completes, and unzip it.
Most files when downloaded from your web browser will default to to your PC's Downloads folder. Just double clicking it should unzip it.
-
Have a USB thumb drive handy and copy the firmware files to it.
Connect the USB drive to your PC and copy the firmware files from the unzipped folder to the root of your USB drive (place them directly on the drive and do not place them in a folder on the drive).
-
Connect the USB drive to the USB port on your HW-A40R soundbar.
Safely remove the USB drive from your PC and insert it into the USB port on the bottom of your HW-A40R soundbar.
-
Change the source on your soundbar to USB.
Use the source button on your soundbar remote or on the main unit to change the source of the soundbar to USB. The soundbar will read the USB and start the update.
-
The soundbar will reboot when the update is complete.
The soundbar will display the update progress and reboot once the update is complete.
-
Change the source back to Bluetooth and play content on your TV.
The sound will no longer cut out when connected via Bluetooth.
