Iris detection not working on Samsung phone

Iris scanning on your Galaxy phone uses biometric data unique to your eyes to keep your device safe, so only you can unlock your phone. If you’re having trouble registering your irises, or if your phone can’t detect your eyes, it could be due to the camera lens or your environment. You can review our tips for using the Iris scanner on your phone.
The Iris scan feature is not available on all phone models.
Your phone may not recognize your irises in the following cases:
- If the device is too far away from your face. Make sure to keep your phone 10-13 inches away.
- If your eyes are covered or hard to recognize. For example, if you’re wearing glasses or contact lenses.
- If you have ptosis or an eye disease, or if you've had eye surgery.
- If the camera lens is dirty or damaged.
- If the lighting conditions are significantly different from the conditions when your irises were registered, such as under direct sunlight.
- If a case or protective vinyl is covering the iris LED or camera lens. Refer to your user manual to confirm the location of the LED and camera lens.
