Samsung Chromebook performance is lagging

There are a few factors that can affect your Chromebook’s performance, such as the device’s age or using a large number of programs at once. If your Chromebook is lagging, you can try closing some active programs and then checking for available updates.
-
Close your running apps, programs, and windows.
Sometimes, having too many things running at once can slow down your Chromebook. Try closing some of them to increase your device’s processing speed.
You can also close programs from Task Manager. Press Search and Esc simultaneously to open the Task Manager. Select the program you want to close, and then select End Process.
-
Check for updates.
You check your Chromebook for updates by selecting the Status tray at the bottom right, and then selecting Settings. Select About Chrome OS, and then select Check for updates. If an update is available, your Chromebook will begin downloading the update automatically.
-
Perform a factory reset.
A factory reset on your Chromebook, or a Powerwash, will restore the device to its default settings. Make sure to back up your data before performing a Powerwash.
After the Powerwash, use your Chromebook normally to check if the performance has been improved.
-
Request service.
If your Chromebook's performance is still slow or lagging, service is required. Please contact the Support Center to request service.
