Samsung earbuds do not recognize my touch

There are a few reasons why your earbuds may not recognize your touch when you're performing touchpad commands. For example, the touchpads may have been accidentally locked or you may not be wearing the earbuds correctly. To fix this, you can unlock the touchpads in the Galaxy Wearable app, review how to properly wear your earbuds, and check for software updates.

  1. Make sure the touchpads are not locked.

    If your earbuds' touchpads have been locked in the Galaxy Wearable app, you won't be able to use the touchpad commands.

    You can fix this by unlocking the touchpads from the Galaxy Wearable app. The steps will be different depending on what earbud model you have:

    • Galaxy Buds2 or Galaxy Buds2 Pro: In the Galaxy Wearable app, make sure the switch next to Touch controls is turned on.
    • Galaxy Buds Pro: In the Galaxy Wearable app, make sure the switch next to Block touches is turned off.
    • Galaxy Buds, Buds+, or Buds Live: In the Galaxy Wearable app, tap Touch controls, and then make sure the Block touches feature is turned off.
  2. Buds Sleeves may be required if your Galaxy Buds Live sit too far in your ear.

  3. Make sure you are wearing the earbuds properly.

    Check that you are wearing your earbuds properly and that the sensors are making contact with your ears.

  4. Restart your earbuds.

    You can also try restarting your earbuds if possible. If this does not work, you can try completely resetting them.

  5. Check for software updates.

    You can check for software updates through the Galaxy Wearable app or through a PC.Earbuds software update menu

  6. Request service.

    If the problem persists after following the above steps, service is required. Please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG to request service.
