Static electricity happens on JetStick

Vacuuming on certain surfaces may produce static shock. Keep yourself informed about static electricity so you can avoid being shocked when using your Samsung Jet Stick vacuum.

  1. Move the vacuum to another surface, or use a different type of brush.

The soft brush should be used on flat surfaces like wood, marble, and non-carpet. The turbo brush is recommended for use on carpets.

If you want to use the soft brush on carpet, to reduce or eliminate the static, use it for a short time on non-carpet, then clean it by shaking off excess residue or wiping with a damp towel before using it on carpet.

  2. Move the vacuum back once the static is gone.

Once the static has dissipated, you can move the vacuum back to the original surface to continue cleaning.

  3. Try a water humidifier.

It can also help to use a water humidifier to maintain RH between 50~60% in the home. Dryer environments create higher potential for static buildup.

  4. Review the previous steps.

There is not a 100% foolproof way to prevent static buildup. The previous steps will help you reduce the static.
