No or Low Audio from HMD Odyssey Speakers

There is usually a simple solution for audio issues on the HMD Odyssey. For example, you may simply need to reconnect or change the default sound device. If you don't hear anything or the volume is too low from HMD Odyssey speakers, you'll want to check the volume and default device.

  1. Verify the volume is up.

Make sure the volume is not turned down or muted on the headset and computer.

  2. Check if the default computer speakers are working.

    1. Remove the headset from your head.
    2. Disconnect the headset (both USB and HDMI cables) from the computer.
    3. Restart the computer, and then verify the speakers that you normally use on the computer are working.
If the computer is not playing any sound, visit Windows support to fix sound problems on your computer.
    4. Reconnect the headset (both USB and HDMI cables) to the computer, and the Mixed Reality Portal will launch automatically.
  3. Change the default audio and speech device.

From the computer, select Start > Settings > Mixed reality > Audio and speech. Then, turn on When I wear my headset, switch to headset audio and When I wear my headset, switch to headset mic.
