Samsung monitor turns black when I close my laptop lid

By default, most laptops go to sleep when they are closed, even when an external monitor or Odyssey Ark gaming screen is connected. However, it's pretty easy to adjust this setting if you don't like it.
Windows
To find this setting in Windows, open the Start menu and start typing Change what closing the lid does. (This setting will not appear unless you are using a computer with a lid, such as a laptop.)
To continue using external devices like your monitor even when the lid is closed, select the Do nothing setting.
Mac
On a Mac, this is called Clamshell mode.
To turn it on, open the Apple menu and navigate to System Preferences > Energy Saver, and set the Computer Sleep and Display Sleep sliders to Never.
