MHL device not recognized by the TV

MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) links your devices with a cable to increase communication speed and also allow charging of your device. If your MHL device is not recognized by the TV, first confirm your device supports MHL, and then check that it is connected properly. If your MHL device connects but some apps don't work, there's an issue with MHL support on your device.
-
Confirm your mobile device supports MHL.
If your MHL device is not being recognized or has a "no signal" or "weak signal" message when it is connected to a TV with the MHL to HDMI adapter, it may not support MHL connection.
Visit MHL Devices to view all compatible devices and adapters.
-
Make sure the MHL device is connected to the MHL port on the TV.
Some Samsung TVs will have only one HDMI port that is labeled MHL. Make sure that your device is connected to the port labeled MHL using your MHL to HDMI adapter.
-
Reconnect the MHL connection at both ends.
Disconnect the MHL adapter from the device and the TV and reconnect it to establish a firm connection at both ends.
-
Set the TV to the correct source.
If your TV only has one MHL port it is usually HDMI 3, but varies by model. Make sure your TV is set to the correct source.
-
Try to display something else from your device.
If a picture, video, or other app can use the MHL connection and work with the connected device, then there is no issue with the TV, but there is a limitation with the MHL support on your device.
-
Replace the MHL cable.
If you're certain that your device is MHL compatible but nothing appears at all, try replacing the MHL cable.
Service is not required for this issue. If you still have issues, contact the manufacturer of the device.
