Samsung monitor display is blank

The most common reason for a blank monitor or Odyssey Ark gaming screen is that it's turned off, it's hibernating, or it's using a screen saver. Assuming that's not the case, you'll need to identify if the problem is with the monitor or with the connected device.

Check the monitor's source and connections
-
Make sure the monitor turns on.
Check if the monitor is on. You can use any of the buttons on the monitor to open the on-screen menu. If the menu doesn't appear, use the Power button and then try again. If the menu still doesn't appear, then use our guide for monitor will not turn on.
-
Disconnect and reconnect the video cable at both ends.
A loose or defective cable can easily cause a blank screen, even if the cable appears plugged in or was previously working.
If the issue continues or if the cable is damaged, replace the cable. Check your user manual to determine the best cable to use.
-
Select the right source.
Most monitors will automatically select the source that is sending a video signal, but sometimes the wrong one will be selected. Other times, you will need to manually select it. You can change the source with the buttons on the monitor or in the on-screen menu. See your user manual for instructions, if needed.
Make sure the source matches the port on the back of the monitor that your external device is connected to.
Only use one video cable to connect your monitor to your device. If you use two, the monitor may be looking for a video signal on the wrong one.
