Plastic film or cardboard inside Samsung microwave

All microwaves have a magnetron cover, although the appearance will vary between models. On many Samsung microwaves, the magnetron cover may look like a piece of cardboard and you might wonder why it's there. You may also see some plastic film on the microwave's door on some models. This guide will explain which items you can remove and which ones you can't.
What is the magnetron cover?
It covers the magnetron (which is what generates microwaves) from food splatter and debris. It is not made out of cardboard, even if it looks that way on some models. It's made out of Formica-molten rock and shaped into a sheet.
Should I remove it?
No. This is a part of the microwave. Removing it will damage the microwave and void its warranty.
Do all microwaves have a magnetron cover?
Yes, even ones from other manufacturers. The color, thickness, size, and position will vary. For instance, some magnetron covers are on the ceiling instead of a side wall, and in many microwaves it is the same color as the walls. But all microwaves have a magnetron cover.
How do I clean the magnetron cover?
It can be cleaned the same way you clean the microwave's interior walls. Use light pressure, and do not use abrasive pads or cleaners.
Should I remove the interior plastic sheet?
This is a clear, thick sheet that covers the inside of the microwave door and should NOT be removed. It has been attached securely and is meant to remain on the inside of the door.
Should I remove the exterior plastic film?
The protective plastic film on the outside of the door should be removed before using your new microwave. This film is applied for packing purposes and should peel off easily.
