Samsung refrigerator temperature display is blinking

A blinking temperature display is trying to get your attention, typically because the temperature is too high and things need to cool down. It could also be because a door has been left open. Any other blinking lights may require a power cycle to correct the issue.
Error codes are meant to be resolved immediately, so if one appears, normal usage of the controls on the fridge will be blocked until the code is resolved. Family Hub models are an exception; they can still use the Family Hub panel while an error is occurring, but they should still resolve the code immediately. See our error codes guide for more information.
An error displays
Sometimes error codes, when they appear, will blink to call attention to themselves. For example, the codes 88 88, 83E, 85E, or 86E may appear after a power outage, letting you know the fridge did not restart correctly after the outage. Additional codes may appear as well for other problems.
On older models or models without a numeric display, error codes can appear as specific and seemingly random segments of the panel lit up or blinking. This is actually an error code that a service technician can interpret to determine what the fridge is reporting. If this type of error code appears, visit our Support Center to request service. It's also helpful to take a picture of it for the technician.
Although most error codes require service, some can be resolved by troubleshooting. If an error code appears (and it's not the kind that looks like random segments of the panel are lit up), see our error codes guide to determine the next steps to take.
Temperature display is blinking
The control panel, or a portion of the control panel, may blink if the temperature inside the fridge is above 59°F. It will automatically stop blinking after the temperature goes back down.
The temperature may rise when a door has been left open, or when the refrigerator is recovering from a recent power outage. As long as your fridge is working correctly, there's nothing to do but wait for it to cool down. This can take up to 4 hours.
However, if your fridge is not cooling correctly, continue troubleshooting with our refrigerator cooling guide.
Deli drawer panel is blinking
Some refrigerators have a small control panel for a middle drawer, like a deli drawer. If the lights on this panel are blinking, unplug the refrigerator or turn off power at the circuit breaker for 2 minutes. Power the fridge back on, and wait 1 minute. If the lights are still blinking, visit our Support Center to request service.
