Cooktop burners will not turn on

Samsung electric built in cooktop

If the burners will not turn on, there are a few things you need to check. Hopefully this guide can get your cooktop back up and running.

Switch the circuit breaker off before inspecting the wiring on the cooktop. If the wiring is damaged, it may cause an electric shock.

  1. Check the circuit breaker.

Test to see if the circuit breaker has been tripped by turning it off for 30 seconds and turning it back on. If the circuit trips after you switch it back on, turn the circuit back off and contact a licensed electrician.

  2. Try turning the cooktop on.

Since you have reset the breaker, try the cooktop again. If it still won't turn on, you need to inspect the wiring for damage.

  3. Inspect the wiring.

Switch the circuit breaker off. Inspect the wiring under the cooktop where it connects to your homes' power source. Look to see if it damaged or if it is disconnected.

Service is required if the wiring has been damaged. If it has been disconnected, you need to contact a professional installer.

  4. Request service.

If the cooktop will not turn on after following these steps, visit the Support Center to request service.
