Samsung News isn't appearing on Galaxy phone or tablet

Samsung News the latest headlines and stories just one swipe away from your home screen. If you aren't seeing it, it's possible that you accidentally turned it off when managing your Home screen layout, or perhaps you've selected Google Discover.

Samsung Free has been replaced by Samsung News. You can continue to enjoy TV shows in TV Plus.

  1. Turn on Samsung News.

From the Home screen of your phone or tablet, touch and hold an empty area or drag two fingers together in a pinching motion to access the Home screen options. Swipe all the way to the right, and then tap the switch at the top of the page to turn it on.

  2. If your phone or tablet is running Oreo, you will have Samsung Experience Home instead.

  3. Choose between Samsung News and Google Discover.

Some devices will give you the option to use Samsung News or Google Discover. Simply tap either Samsung News or Google Discover.

  4. Switch back to the default launcher.

If you still don't see Samsung News, it may be because you are using a third-party launcher. Samsung Free will only work with the Samsung pre-installed launcher. To change your default launcher, navigate to Settings, tap Apps, and then tap Choose default apps. Tap Home app, and then tap One UI Home.
