Use Voice Commands on the Convoy 4

Voice Commands is an advanced speech recognition software that recognizes your spoken commands. It can dial phone numbers, create messages, and launch applications such as Contacts, Calendar and My Pictures.

To use Voice Commands, speak naturally to your phone at a distance of 3-12 inches. There is no need to train Voice Commands because it is designed to recognize natural speech.

Access Voice Commands

While your phone is open, press Voice commands. Or, from the Home screen, press Menu > Tools > Voice commands.

When using the Voice Command system, there are four commands that are available at all times:

  • "Repeat" will repeat the Voice Command prompt.
  • "Readout" will read out the phone status or contact details.
  • "Info" offers more information and commands, or reads out available options.
  • "Quit" exits the Voice Command system.

At the audio prompt, speak a command:

  • Dial a Contact by saying a name in your Contacts List, a name and location (home, work, mobile) or the phone number. For example, you could say "Call Mom" or "Call Home."
  • Send a text, picture, or video message by saying the name or number of a Contact. For example, you could say "Send message to John."
  • Open any application installed on your phone by stating a command and the name of the application. For example, you could say, "Go to Settings."
  • View details of different things on your phone, such as Status, Voicemail, Messages, Missed Calls, Time, Signal Strength, Battery Level, Volume, Balance, Minutes, Payment, and My Number. State "Check" followed by the item. For example, you could say, "Check Missed Calls."
  • Open a contact record from Contacts by stating "Contacts" and then the Contact's name. For example, you could say, "Contacts Dad."
  • Call the last number you dialed by saying "Redial."
