Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) of Galaxy S8 and S8+
Because they use radio frequencies and electromagnetic fields, mobile phones give a very small amount of radiation. To help measure safe amounts, companies use SAR (Specific absorption rate). This measures the rate at which the human body absorbs energy, such as radiation. It is defined as the power absorbed per mass of tissue and uses units of watts per kilogram (W/kg). In the US, a safe level of SAR is 1.6 or below.
