Cannot sync Outlook Calendar to a Samsung phone or tablet

If events from your Microsoft Outlook account are not syncing to the Calendar app on your Galaxy phone or tablet, you may need to register your Outlook account or reset the Calendar app.

Navigate to the Calendar app.

From the Home screen, swipe up or down to access the Apps screen. Then, open the Calendar app.

Check available calendars.

Tap the Menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the upper left.

 

  • If your Outlook account is available, tap the down arrow next to it. Then, make sure your calendar is selected.
  • If your Outlook account is not listed, it is not available, and you may need to log in.

Note
Most school and workplace email and calendar accounts sync with a Microsoft Exchange server. This is not the same as the Outlook.com email service.

Navigate to Calendar settings.

Navigate to and open the Calendar app. Tap the Menu icon (three horizontal lines), and then tap Manage calendars.

Add Exchange account to Calendar.

Tap the Add icon(plus sign), select Exchange, and then follow the on-screen prompts to add your Exchange account to the Calendar app.

Many servers can be set up automatically, but you may need to tap Set up manually if you have an uncommon server. Your IT department will be able to help.

Access the Settings for apps.

Navigate to and open Settings on your device. Tap Apps, and then swipe to and select Calendar.

Force stop the Calendar app.

Tap Force stop, and then tap OK to confirm.

Clear the Calendar app's cache.

Tap Storage, and then tap Clear cache at the bottom of the screen.

If an app on your Galaxy phone or tablet is not functioning properly, you can try forcing the app to stop and then clearing its data. 

Important
Clearing the data will reset the app to factory default settings, removing any personal settings or data saved on the app. However, some system apps cannot have their data cleared.

Access the Settings for apps.

Navigate to and open Settings on your device. Tap Apps, and then swipe to and select Calendar.

Force stop the Calendar app.

Tap Force stop, and then tap OK to confirm.

Clear the app's data.

Tap Storage, and then tap Clear data at the bottom of the screen. Tap Delete on the pop-up.
