Samsung Galaxy Chromebook only connects to Wi-Fi in Guest mode

If your Samsung Chromebook only connects to Wi-Fi while in Guest mode, or only seems to work properly while in Guest mode, you can try updating the operating system and performing a reset.

Samsung Galaxy Chromebook only connects to Wi-Fi in Guest mode

Charge and turn on your Chromebook.

Charge your Chromebook by connecting it to a power source. Then, turn on your Chromebook by pressing the Power button.

Access Chrome recovery and update the operating system.

Simultaneously press ESC + Power + Refresh button. You will see a Chrome recovery screen.
Next, press CTRL + D. You will see the following message: “To turn OS verification OFF, press ENTER. Your system will reboot and local data will be cleared.”
Press ENTER to proceed. You will see the following message: “OS verification is OFF. Press SPACE to re-enable.”
Next, press the spacebar. You will see the following message: “Press ENTER to confirm you wish to turn OS verification on. Your system will reboot and local data will be cleared.”
Press ENTER to proceed. You will see the following message: “OS verification is ON. Your system will reboot and local data will be cleared.”
Allow your Chromebook to reboot.

Connect to a Wi-Fi network and follow the on-screen instructions to finish updating the operating system.

After the reboot, connect to your desired Wi-Fi network. Enter the password if required. Then, follow the prompts to complete the OS update.

Sign into your Google account and set up your Chromebook.

Next, sign into your Google account using your credentials. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your Chromebook.

Restart your Chromebook.

Restart your Chromebook by selecting the Taskbar icon in the bottom right corner, and then selecting the Power icon.

When the system powers off, wait 30 seconds, and then press the Power button to turn your Chromebook back on.

Update your Chromebook.

After the restart, navigate to and open Settings. Navigate to About Chrome OS, and then update the OS by selecting Check for updates. Follow the prompts and allow your Chromebook to update.

Restart your Chromebook again.

After the update is complete, restart your Chromebook again. After the restart, check if your Chromebook is functioning properly.
