Samsung PC displays Operating System Not Found error when booting

If you receive an error message indicating the operating system cannot be found, your Samsung PC isn't able to load Windows. This issue can be due to a faulty drive, damaged boot record, or changes to BIOS configuration. The first step is to check that the PC is looking in the right place by resetting the BIOS. You can also restore Windows to where it belongs so it will boot.

Reset the BIOS.

To reset the BIOS, turn the PC on while holding down the F2 key. If the PC is already running or asleep, shut it down completely and then hold F2 as you turn it on again.

The BIOS can vary between models so there are a couple of ways to go about resetting the BIOS, choose the one that fits best.

  • Click Default on the right side of the screen. Click OK. Make sure to also click Save so that the changes can stick, then click Exit
  • Press F9 to load the defaults and then Enter to confirm. Press F10 to save and exit.
