Cannot connect phone to car using a USB cable
If you are unable to connect your phone to your car via USB, please review the following:
- A high-quality USB cable is recommended, such as the one that came with your phone. You can also try using a brand new cable.
- Try using a different USB port if one is available.
- Some cars may require a USB-A to USB-C cable.
- Avoid using USB hubs and cable extensions.
Additionally, your car’s entertainment system may require software updates. Please contact your car’s dealer or manufacturer for assistance.
Cannot connect phone to car using an AUX cable
If you are unable to connect your phone to your car via AUX, please review the following:
- Check the AUX cable for fraying or damage. If the cable is old or damaged, try using a brand new cable.
- Your phone may require a USB-C to headphone jack adapter.
Cannot connect phone to car using Bluetooth
Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and your car.
On your phone, swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Quick settings panel, and then tap the Bluetooth icon. You can also touch and hold the icon, and then tap the switch at the top of the screen to enable Bluetooth.
You may need to refer to your car’s manual or your stereo’s manual for precise Bluetooth instructions. Additionally, your car’s entertainment system may require software updates. Please contact your car’s dealer or manufacturer for assistance.
Cannot connect phone to car using Android Auto
Ensure both your phone and car are compatible with the Android Auto app. Android Auto is compatible with phones running Android 8.0 and later with a data plan. You may need to refer to your car’s manual or manufacturer to determine if it is compatible with Android Auto.
Although a wireless version of Android Auto is available, the standard version requires a USB cable connection. If needed, please review the “Cannot connect phone to car using a USB cable” for assistance.
You can check out the Android Auto Help page or Android Auto website for further instructions and compatibility information.
