Long boot times on models with 5G modems

Some Samsung models equipped with 5G models may experience extended boot times when running Windows 11. Typically, these models take around 25 to 30 seconds to boot up, compared to the usual 10 to 12 seconds seen on other models.

While we have reported this issue to Microsoft for resolution, users can try the following workaround to reduce boot times:
Note
These steps are temporary measures, and the issue will likely persist until a permanent solution is found. We recommend keeping an eye on Samsung and Microsoft support forums for updates on this matter.
1

Disable Fast Start up.

Go to Control Panel >  Hardware and Sound > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do. Uncheck Turn on fast start up (recommended), and then Save changes.
2

Perform a Clean Boot.

Press Win + R keys, type "msconfig", and hit Enter. Under the General tab, select Selective Startup and uncheck Load startup items. Click the Services tab, check Hide all Microsoft services, and click Disable all. Apply changes and reboot your system.

Screen scaling changes automatically on 13 inch models

Screen scaling changes automatically on 13 inch models

If you're using a 13-inch Samsung model, you may notice that after upgrading to Windows 11, the screen scaling changes to 150%, causing elements on the screen to appear larger than expected. To correct this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click on your desktop and select Display Settings.
  2. Scroll down to the Change the size of text, apps, and other items section.
  3. Select a smaller percentage (e.g., 125% or 100%) to return the screen elements to their original size.
Note
The screen scaling may affect the appearance of some applications. If you encounter any issues after changing the scaling, consider reverting to the default setting or contacting Microsoft for assistance.

We hope this guide has helped you identify and resolve any common issues you may encounter while using Samsung computers with Windows 11. Should you face any other challenges not covered in this document, please do not hesitate to contact Microsoft for further assistance.

Auto HDR compatibility limitations

Auto HDR compatibility limitations

One of the exciting new features in Windows 11 is Auto HDR, which enhances color and contrast in compatible games. However, not all games support this feature yet. Specifically, games built on DirectX versions older than DirectX 11 cannot utilize Auto HDR. Microsoft is continually expanding the list of supported games, but for now, check if your game supports Auto HDR before enabling it.

How to check game compatibility:

  1. Open the Xbox app on your Windows 11 computer.
  2. Navigate to the Settings tab.
  3. Under Graphics, click on Auto HDR.
  4. Review the list of supported games.

Contact Microsoft for feedback:

If you'd like to see a specific game added to the list of supported titles, feel free to submit feedback to Microsoft via the Xbox Insider Hub app or the Windows Feedback Hub. Your input helps shape future improvements to Windows 11 and its gaming capabilities.

We hope this guide has helped you identify and resolve any common issues you may encounter while using Samsung computers with Windows 11. If you face any other challenges not covered in this document, don't hesitate to contact Microsoft for further assistance. Stay updated on new releases and patches to ensure optimal performance and enjoyment on your Samsung computer and Windows 11.
