Samsung DeX mode will not start

On phones that were set up by Knox Customization Configurator, Samsung DeX may fail to start. Typically, only phones that are issued and administered by a business will be customized with Knox. When trying to use DeX, the phone will simply mirror its screen to the monitor. You'll need to check if the phone was configured this way, and if it was, you'll have to download a patch to fix it.

Samsung DeX mode will not start

When using DeX mode on Galaxy tablets, the interface will look similar to the tablet’s normal operation. You can check the Quick settings panel to ensure DeX is running by swiping down from the top of the screen using two fingers. Then, check the DeX icon in the panel. Verify phone configuration.

Swipe up. If "Knox Customization" appears, the device has been configured with Knox Customization Configurator, and you will need to proceed to the next step. If your phone has not been customized, follow our DeX setup guide to get started.

Download the Samsung DeX patch for your phone.

Use a web browser app to navigate to the Knox website, and then tap Next. Tap Finish, and the phone will check for an update. Tap UPDATE.
