Samsung dryer displays an error code

Important
If your model does not have a digital display, it will display error codes as blinking lights instead.
Samsung Dryer Error Code-9C1

Voltage errors (9C1, 9E, 2E, 9E1)

Important

If you're using a multi-control kit and get this error

If your dryer is stacked with your washer using a multi-control kit, the washer may report that the dryer has a 9C1 error if you try to control the dryer within 5 seconds of turning the washer on. A software update to correct this is available via the SmartThings app. Add the dryer to SmartThings and check for updates to install it. (It takes about 20 minutes to install, and the dryer will be unresponsive while updating.)

This code appears when something is abnormal with the voltage being supplied to the dryer.

  • If you get this error, check that the dryer is on its own circuit and not using an extension cord.
  • If it's an electric dryer, confirm the power cord has been installed properly and the correct voltage is being supplied.
  • If you take a model out of the country it was sold in, you may get this error, as power grids and their regulations vary between countries.

If the error continues, visit our Support Center to request service.
