AirPlay not connecting to Samsung TV

Check the TV menu for AirPlay settings.

1
Open the Full Settings Menu.

Press Home on the Samsung remote and navigate to All Settings.

For more information on establishing the connection, check out How to stream from an iPhone using AirPlay 2.

2
Open the Apple AirPlay Settings.
Note
If the AirPlay option is missing, this means the application has not been downloaded from the Samsung server. To fix this, perform a Smart Hub reset (see instructions in Checkpoint C), and make sure to agree to the Terms and Conditions. Also, you must be signed into your Samsung account.
Navigate to Connection, then select Apple Airplay Settings.
3
Try connecting to the TV again.
Perform the same connection steps on your iPhone to attempt AirPlaying to the TV.

Check the app being used.

1

It's important to know if the issue is with the particular content that you are trying to AirPlay. If a certain app or type of content is not working, make sure to try a different app like YouTube, Netflix, Photos, etc.

Do a Smart Hub reset.

Note
Performing a Smart Hub reset will log you out of your favorite apps. Make sure to write down your login info before performing this step.
1
Open the Self Diagnosis settings.

Resetting the Smart Hub can fix a variety of issues.

Navigate to the Menu first. Then, Settings All Settings > Support Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Smart Hub Reset > Enter Pin (default PIN is 0000). Once the reset is complete, try the AirPlay connection again.

It could be a network issue.

Note
Your TV and iPhone must be operating on the same network. This goes for network frequency, too. For help with the network connection, check out Connect your Samsung TV to the internet.
1
Reset the router.

Often times, the issue can be network related. If resetting the Smart Hub did not fix the issue, reset the router that is associated with your home internet.

After resetting the router and connecting both devices to the network, try the AirPlay connection again.

It could be an issue with the device.

1
Try a different Apple device.
Sometimes, trying to use AirPlay with a different device can help narrow down where the cause of the issue is. If you have multiple devices with AirPlay capabilities, try establishing the connection with them.

Check for software updates.

1
Open the Support page on your TV.

To check what software your TV is using, navigate to All Settings and open the Support tab. There, you will see both the current and latest software available.

For the best results, both devices need to be up to date on their current software. Use your TV's model code and refer to the Samsung user manual page to check and download the latest software available.
