Pin an app to the screen on your Samsung phone or tablet

Before you can pin an app to your device’s screen, you’ll need to turn on the setting.

1. Navigate to and open Settings, then tap Security and privacy, and then tap More security settings.
2. Tap the switch next to Allow apps to be pinned to enable the setting.
   

Once app pinning has been turned on, you can pin any app of your choice.

1. Open the app you’d like to pin. You can navigate to the app using the Apps screen, or tap Recents on the Navigation bar to display your recently opened apps.
2. Tap the app’s icon at the top of the window, and then tap Pin this app.
   
   
3. The app will be pinned to your screen. You will not be able to navigate away from the app once it’s been pinned.

When you’re finished using the pinned app, you can unpin it.

1. Simultaneously touch and hold the Recents and Back buttons on the Navigation bar.
2. “App unpinned” will appear on the bottom of the screen.
