Set up and use the Galaxy A14 5G
SIM card and network connectivity
The SIM card for your Galaxy A14 5G allows access to your wireless service provider's mobile data network. In other words, you will be able to make calls as well as send messages using your phone. Also, since your new phone is 5G compatible, you’ll be able to enjoy fast internet and connection speeds. For instructions on inserting and removing your SIM card, you can refer to our SIM card guide.
To activate service with your carrier, or for additional network connection questions, you will need to contact your carrier.
Power on your phone
To turn on your Galaxy A14 5G for the first time, press and hold the Side key on the right side of the phone until it vibrates. The Samsung logo will appear, and then you will be able to set up your device. Please see the next section in this article for more information about the initial setup.
You can also extend your phone battery’s life using options like Power saving mode and Wi-Fi power saving. However, when it’s time to turn off your device, you have a few different options to choose from.
Initial setup
Once your Galaxy A14 5G has been turned on for the first time, you can begin the initial setup process. You’ll be walked through several on-screen instructions such as selecting your preferred language, connecting to Wi-Fi, logging into your personal accounts, and creating a screen lock. If you choose to skip some of the steps, you can return to them at a later time using the Settings menu.
Manage storage and memory
Your Galaxy A14 5G comes with 64GB of storage and 4GB of memory. You can also expand its storage up to 1TB using a microSD card!
However, there are several options for managing your phone’s storage and memory, so there is no need to worry about misplacing your data. For instance, you can use My Files to transfer pictures, videos, or audio recordings to Google Drive or to Microsoft OneDrive. Or, you can relocate your data onto another device, such as an SD card. Additionally, Smart Switch will let you move your data from a previous phone to your new phone.
If you’re concerned about losing precious information or important work files, you can back up your data as well.
Security and privacy
In the event that you accidentally lose your device, you can use SmartThings Find to quickly locate it. Both options will provide you with detailed information about your phone’s whereabouts.
To further protect your phone and personal data, you can also set up a screen lock, such as a pattern or PIN lock, or a biometric option like your fingerprints. These locks will ensure that only you can access and use your device.
For information about other security options, like App security, Samsung Pass, and Private Share, you can refer to our security features guide.
Use the Camera app
Taking high quality pictures and videos with your Galaxy A14 5G phone is easy, thanks to its 50MP wide lens, 2MP depth lens, and 2MP macro lens. It also includes a 13MP front lens for perfect selfies.
Try taking some bright shots in low-light environments using the enhanced Night mode, or decorate your pictures with stickers and emojis.
The Side key can also be customized to quickly launch the Camera app.
Customization options
To make the Galaxy A14 5G truly your own, you can use its many customization options. For instance, you can organize the Home screen and also add themes and icons to take full advantage of the A14 5G’s 6.6 inch screen. If you’d like to change up your Lock screen, just choose a new wallpaper or even set a cool video as your background!
It’s also possible to customize your phone’s navigation if you’re having a little bit of trouble with it. Motions and gestures will help you interact with your phone using actions such as swiping and double tapping, and you can also adjust the display settings so your screen is easier to see.
