Use parental controls on your TV’s Gaming Hub

Family playing game together

The Gaming Hub on 2022 and newer Samsung TVs makes video games even more accessible for everyone! However, there may be some games or apps that you don’t want your children to access. You can lock apps within the Gaming Hub to keep them from being accessed. Plus, some of the apps within the Gaming Hub have their own parental controls as well. A Samsung Account and internet connection are required.*

Game Rating Lock

The Game Rating lock lets you set an age limit in Samsung's Gaming Hub. Only games that fall within the chosen age range can be selected to view more information. Games that are blocked require your TV's PIN to see the info or access the game.

Navigate to Game Activity & Options at the bottom of the Gaming Hub page and select Game Rating Lock. A menu appears where you will select the age range of your child. The games will be blocked based on the age range and the game's ESRB rating. Check out the ESRB website for more information about the different ratings.

Lock gaming apps

Just like regular streaming and media apps on your Samsung TV, you can lock gaming apps on the Gaming Hub if you don’t want your children accessing certain apps.

  1. Press the Home button to open the Home screen menu.

  2. Navigate to Apps, and then select the Settings icon in the top right corner.

  3. Next, select the app you want, and then select Lock or Unlock.

  4. Note: The default PIN is 0000. To change the PIN, navigate to Settings and then select General. Select System Manager, and then select Change PIN.

Xbox Game Pass parental controls

You can use the Xbox Game Pass app on the Gaming Hub to browse and play some of your favorite titles! And to make things even better, the Xbox Game Pass app uses the same parental controls as other Xbox services, such as an Xbox console. You can read up on additional information on Xbox’s family & online safety support page.
