Use the lights and vents on your Samsung over-the-range microwave
Your microwave’s lights and vents are there to help you make the most out of cooking. Both features come with a few options to suit your needs, whether you want to turn on the lights at night or increase the vent fan’s speed to clear out your kitchen. Finding and using these buttons on your microwave is easy.
Use the lights
You can control the exterior lights on the bottom of your microwave if you’d like them to be brighter. They can be dimmed or turned off as well. It's perfect for when you need better light while cooking or if you're in the kitchen for a midnight snack and want a nightlight.
To adjust the bottom lights on your microwave, press the Light button (it may look like a light bulb on your model). This will set the light to High.
Press the Light button twice to set the lights to Low.
Press the Light button three times to turn off the lights.
Use the vents
Your microwave’s vent fan is meant to remove steam and smoke when you're using your cooktop. Turn on the vent if you’ve just cooked something and want to clean the air in your kitchen.
To turn on the vent, press the Vent On/Off button (it may look like a fan on your model).
Press the Vent 2 Speed button (or Vent 4 Speed button depending on your model) to set the speed level.
Note: If your model does not have a Vent Speed button, you can cycle through the speeds (and turn off the fan) using the Vent button.
Press the Vent On/Off button to turn off the vent.
