-
What is induction cooking?Cooking with induction means using electromagnetic energy to directly heat cookware, enabling rapid heating, immediate temperature setting changes and a quickly cooling cooktop.
-
What are some pros and cons of induction cooking?Benefits of induction cooking include fast heating, energy efficiency and cooking surfaces that cool quickly for safer operation and easy cleaning. One downside is the need for cookware made of metals like cast iron, carbon steel and stainless steel.
-
What is the difference between gas and induction cooking?Gas cooking uses gas-fed flame to indirectly heat cookware, resulting in a low rate of energy efficiency. Induction cooking uses electromagnetic induction to heat cookware directly, resulting in extremely efficient heating.
-
How do I clean an induction cooktop? It is recommended to use non-abrasive substances and materials to clean induction cooktops, just like other glass cooktops. Samsung Induction Cooktops feature a scratch-resistant matte glass surface that cools quickly and is easy to clean.
-
Do induction cooktops save energy?Induction range stovetops transfer 90% of the heat energy they produce directly to cookware, while gas range burners transfer about 50%, and radiant or coil electric ranges only 30%. This makes induction cooking much more efficient than those options.
-
Is induction cooking safe?Induction appliances cool to the touch more quickly than electric and gas stovetops, and do not use exposed coils or open flame to heat cookware. Caution should always be used when cooking on any surface.
-
What are the electrical requirements for induction ranges?Samsung Induction Range electrical requirements: 240V/208V/60 Hz, 40 Amps.
