Going big in a minimalist space
Ed Be and Jared Blake are experts at creating decorative pieces that fit any aesthetic. Since 2017, the founders of Lichen, a New York-based interior design and furniture incubator, have fostered a community of “lich-minded” individuals who share their fascination with intentional design. Check out how Lichen uses The Premiere 4K Smart Laser Projector to cover the walls of their small space with striking high-definition images.
Good design is invisible and impossible to ignore
"Good design is invisible," says Jared Blake. For some artists, a blank canvas is the biggest design challenge. For Lichen, it's what drives them.
"When we first opened our storefront, it was a pretty blank slate. Today there’s a sofa here, sometimes it is a table, lounge area, or just stools,” says Jared. Every time they rearrange their studio, the design duo keeps one principle in mind.
The pair appreciate how the contemporary design of the minimalist projector lends into any space when it’s off, and that its room-filling sound and cinematic display (available in 120-inch and 130-inch triple laser versions) make it impossible to ignore when it’s on.
A masterpiece that fits their space
Lichen found a variety of uses for The Premiere 4K Projector. “One day we’ll set it up in the shop to showcase films for customers, the next day we’ll have it in the studio for a meeting,” says Ed. With the same Smart service as a Samsung TV, this ultra-short throw smart laser projector offers a range of viewing options — from streaming shows to cinema-caliber movie screenings.
The Premiere 4K Smart Triple Laser model delivers an ultra-bright cinematic picture featuring vivid color and crisp, incredible contrast. “It was really surprising to see how well the color and clarity hold up in bright or dim lighting,” says Ed.
Designing an elevated space fit for everyone
"A lot of the furniture that we make is a direct reaction to the average New Yorker not having enough space," says Ed. Lichen made a name for themselves with their ability to create and curate pieces that adapt to any space. The Premiere complements their philosophy by doing the same.
“Our guiding design principles are harmony, empathy and education,” Jared explains. “We try to be informative with all our choices.” As a combination of contemporary style and cutting-edge technology, The Premiere helps Lichen bring balance to any room.
