Dreamground: Explore the metaverse in 5G

Next time you visit Samsung 837, our flagship experience in the heart of New York City, or SoFi Stadium at Hollywood Park in Los Angeles, you’ll be greeted by a dazzling sculpture garden in an augmented digital world visible through your Galaxy device. The developers behind our newest attraction debuted Dreamground, a stunning augmented reality experience, in September 2021. The 5G playground is a mixed reality: part physical installation, part digital immersive experience and a peek into the next era of the internet known as the metaverse.

Experience is back—and more immersive

Get your Galaxy device ready for Dreamground. Throughout Hollywood Park and Samsung 837, you’ll find virtual sculptures and floating portals that allow you to explore immersive worlds. At both locations, look for Bubbloonland, Fluttering Forest, and Crystal Galaxy to see what previous visitors have created.

The only thing you’ll need to enter the metaverse is an Android device, although the mixed reality world looks best with Samsung 5G.¹ Visit the Dreamground portal, then explore three virtual worlds, each introduced by a one-minute show complete with stage lighting that are free from physical or spatial constraints. Enjoy the 360-degree experience with the touch of a finger. Tap into color-coded, magical augmented realities like the diamond-studded Crystal Galaxy featuring 3D floating geodes that leap from the theater screen to your hand as you move.

Start your tour

The experience at Samsung 837 is interactive and communal from the moment you step inside. Start by taking an AR-enabled selfie on a Samsung Galaxy 5G device. Filter it to create your own artwork. Then upload it to The Frame in the showroom, where other guests can see your masterpiece on display.

Visit the first floor at Samsung 837 to demo Dreamground on the latest 5G phones, from the affordable Galaxy A52 5G to the revolutionary Galaxy Z Fold3 5G with its massive, foldable double screen. This third-generation foldable phone is a workspace, theater and game room right in your pocket. For a big gaming advantage, the sprawling 7.6-inch Super Smooth 120Hz inner display is designed to crush the competition.

At Hollywood Park, visitors can enter an AR wonderland in the same open portals featured at 837 and see what others have created in the space on the larger-than-life Infinity Screen by Samsung, the world's largest 360-degree display that hangs above the 70,000-seat arena. Or look for QR codes on digital screens in the facility and other on-site signage to enter the metaverse.

Start outside the main entrance of SoFi Stadium and walk south to immerse yourself and take your live experience in the physical world to the next level virtually on your handheld. In Dreamground Hollywood Park, you can grab hold of the butterfly sculpture of Fluttering Forest, hatch like a chrysalis emerging from a giant geode egg sculpture inside Crystal Galaxy, or inflate your friends in Bubbloonland, where bubbles blossom from giant faucets. Don’t forget to add your own AR embellishments to the sculpture.

“You can ensure it doesn’t glitch or lag if you activate Dreamground with the 120Hz refresh rate available on the Galaxy S 5G phones and foldables,”
- Essiba Macklin, Samsung 837 Guest Experience Expert

Fluttering Forest is an underwater greenspace that suggests a tropical ocean floor lush with leafy weeds and reefs. Bubbloonland is a red-toned underworld of tubular shapes that look like a cartoon map of arteries inside the human body. For an optimal 5G experience that’s lag-free with hyperfast, Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G devices are on loan behind the velvet rope. A real-time comparison of Bubbloonland running on a standard 4G phone and the S21 Ultra 5G makes the difference obvious: 5G offers more vibrant colors, sharp definition of images with no lag, and a smooth, lifelike experience.

It’s a new world. Dive in.

The metaverse is a big, enticing unknown. An early example of immersive AR, Dreamground is also a leap into 5G's limitless possibilities. Imagine 5G coverage of sports or concerts that put you in the middle of the action or AR-enabled classrooms in education, and you've just scratched the surface that Dreamground hints at. A more immersive reality will be here sooner than we think.
