What is S Finder and how do I use it?
S Finder allows you to search your device.
Note that S Finder is available on devices running Android Marshmallow and Lollipop. This feature was replaced on newer devices by a search function available in your apps tray. You can access this search function by tapping Apps, and then clicking the search panel at the top of the screen.
The below article will show you how to access S Finder, how to add it to your panel, use it to search your device, and how to remove it.
To access S Finder:
Note: depending on your model and operating system, S Finder will either appear as an option under the panel, or as an icon within the panel.
If you don't see S Finder, you may need to add it in to your panel:
Using S Finder
You can use S Finder to search your device. Simply enter your search term in the search bar at the top of the screen. It may take a few seconds for all your results come up.
Note that depending on your model and operating system, the below screenshots may differ slightly on your device.
For example, a search for 'camera', brings up the camera app, emails where the word 'camera' is mentioned, camera settings and help, and files where your camera uploads are stored.

Removing S Finder
You can also remove S Finder (and Quick Connect) from your notifications panel.
Note that the option to remove S Finder and Quick Connect was added in the Android Lollipop 5.1.1 update, and is available for devices running Android Marshmallow and Android Lollipop. Click here to view steps on updating your software.
