How to set real time weather wallpaper on the Galaxy S24
The real time weather wallpaper feature on the Galaxy S24 adds 3D animated weather effects to still-life photos used as lock screens. The weather effects mirror your local weather, so if it is raining outside, an animation of rainfall will be applied to the lock screen image.
Photos stored in the Gallery app can be set as wallpaper with weather effects.
Please note: Location services must be enabled in Settings > Location for this feature to work.
Step 1. Touch and hold the background on your home screen.
Step 2. Select Wallpaper and style.
Step 3. Select Change wallpapers.
Step 4. Select Photo ambient under the creative category.
* If a pop-up appears to set up the Weather app, select Agree.
* Photo ambient wallpaper will only appear if you enable the feature in Labs.
Step 5. Select a photo for your background.
Step 6. Adjust the photo’s position on the screen.
Step 7. Tap the play icon to see a preview of the weather wallpaper animation.
* Available effects may vary based on the mood of your photo.
Step 8. Tap Done to apply the animated effects.

- Time-of-day changes don’t always show current conditions precisely, and results may take time to appear.
