How to set Samsung Fridge Freezer temperature setting
It is important to set the temperature of your refrigerator and freezer so that you can preserve your food for optimum freshness and longevity. The recommended temperature setting for food storage is:
- Fridge: +3 °C
- Freezer: -18 °C
Please note: The optimal temperature setting of each compartment depends on the ambient temperature. The recommended temperature given above is based on the ambient temperature of 25°C.

Setting the temperature
Please note: This step may not be required for some models.
- The selected compartment's indicator will blink.
- The degrees Celsius symbol (°C) will not blink.
Other types of fridge display models
Your fridge may feature a different types of display model, details and instructions for each can be found below:
Tap any button to wake the display
To set the fridge temperature:
- Press the Fridge button to cycle down through the temperature -1°C at a time within the range of 7°C to 1°C
- Once you reach the desired temperature it will set automatically
To set the freezer temperature:
- Press the Freezer button to cycle down through the temperature -1°C at a time within the range of -23°C to -15°C
- Once you reach the desired temperature it will set automatically
To set the fridge temperature:
- Press the Fridge Power Cool button to cycle through the set range of temperatures 1°C, 2°C, 3°C, 5°C, or 7°C
- Once you reach the desired temperature it will set automatically
To set the freezer temperature:
- Press the Freezer Power Freeze button to cycle through the set range of temperatures -23°C, -21°C, -19°C, -17°C, or -15°C
- Once you reach the desired temperature it will set automatically
To set the fridge temperature:
- Press the Fridge button to cycle down through the temperature -1°C at a time within the range of 7°C to 1°C
- Once you reach the desired temperature it will set automatically
To active Power Cool:
- Press and hold the Fridge button for 3 seconds
- The indicator icon will light up, and the refrigerator will enter speed cool mode
- Power Cool keeps the cooling process at maximum fan speed for several hours before returning to the previous set temperature
To set the freezer temperature:
- Press the Freezer button to cycle down through the temperature -1°C at a time within the range of -23°C to -15°C
- Once you reach the desired temperature it will set automatically
To activate Power Freeze:
- Press and hold the Freezer button for 3 seconds
- The indicator icon will light up, and the freezer will enter speed freeze mode
- Power Freeze will discontinue automatically after 50 hours
- To deactivate before that, press and hold the Freezer button for 3 seconds
- The freezer will return to its previous temperature setting
Please note: Using Power Freeze increases power consumption. Ensure it is turned off and your freezer returned to its previous temperature when no longer needed.
