How do I put my Samsung oven into test or diagnostic mode?

Samsung oven diagnostic mode is a feature that helps you identify any issues your oven may be experiencing. Check Codes are a quick and simple way to help you locate and remedy many common problems.

The following is a list of common Check Codes, and their solutions.

If you see this error, then you may have a divider sensor error because of a problem with the oven dividing partition.

1. Before starting, ensure that your oven is cool.

2. If the oven partition is in place, remove it and reposition it again correctly.

3. If the partition is not in place, check that nothing is pressing against the partition switch in the back of the oven.

The door is not closed. If this code occurs when the door is closed

1. Check the door plunger switch, it’s the black round plastic cap with a pin sticking out you can see when the door is open. Ensure it moves freely when pressed with your finger.

Your oven is in Demo mode and will not work. Refer to your model’s user manual for the appropriate steps to turn off Demo mode.

When performing a self diagnosis via the SmartThings app this code may appear. It should not appear during regular cooking. The code may only signify a problem if it appears outside of a diagnosis test.

1. During a self diagnosis test, this error may occur if the initial oven temperature is too hot or cold, and falls outside the sensor's range restrictions. This is not an actual defect.

2. If the code appears while running a test, but the oven is heating normally, the code can be ignored. This error does not affect the usability or performance of your oven.

3. If the error appears during cooking, without running a diagnosis, it may signify a potential problem. Try resetting your oven to troubleshoot.

The temperature sensor detects that oven temperature is rising at a higher than normal rate. This is generally caused by a blocked or partially blocked vent (located on the back of the cooktop).

1. Remove any items that may be blocking the vent.

2. While cooking, you can clear the error by opening and closing the door a few times for about 3 seconds. This will allow the release of warm air and force some through the vent.

3. Alternately, you can also turn off the oven, leaving the door open for 1 minute to cool.

1. Turn your oven off and back on again using the Power button.

2. If an error returns, turn power off to your oven. Wait 30 seconds, and then turn it back on.
