What is Samsung One UI?
Samsung One UI is innovative software that is unique to Samsung and powers your smartphone tablet in addition to the Android operating system. One UI is integral to the Samsung Galaxy experience; it’s the face and brains of your Samsung device and has been designed with you in mind, combining all your favourite smartphone features and functions to enhance your experience.

What is One UI app?
One UI is innovative software that is unique to Samsung. Its primary aim is to enhance your user experience by allowing you to customise your home screen widgets, operate your Galaxy device efficiently and enhance your privacy and security settings. What is the latest UI version of Samsung?
The latest Samsung One UI is version 6 which was unveiled in October 2023. The first Samsung phone range to receive the update was the Galaxy S23 series and it is now available on a wide range of Galaxy devices including the Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, and latest Galaxy S24 series.
There’s a lot to explore with this latest upgrade. From the quick panel feature that has a new layout to make it easier to access the features you use most, to easier multitasking with pop-up windows that remain open after you leave. The new One UI 6 has features that empower you to do more of what you want effortlessly.

How do I use Samsung One UI?
Samsung One UI comes preinstalled on compatible devices so there is no need to download it yourself. To check that you have all the benefits of the latest One UI head over to Settings on your Samsung Galaxy device and follow the steps below:
1. Open Settings
2. Tap About phone (found at the bottom of the list)
3. Tap Software information
4. You’ll see One UI version at the top of the screen
If you’re running a version below One UI 6.0 you may be able to update it to the latest version by using the following steps:
1. Open Settings
2. Tap Software Update
3. Tap Download and install
4. Your Galaxy phone will check if there are any updates
5. If an update is available please follow the on-screen instructions

How to customise your home screen using One UI?
Customising your Galaxy home screen has never been easier. Here’s how you can customise your Galaxy device’s home screen with the latest update.
Customise your Galaxy Wallpaper
You can now choose from a unique selection of Galaxy wallpapers, colour palettes and images, for a truly personalised home screen experience.
1. Using a preloaded wallpaper
1. Tap and hold on an empty spot on your home screen
2. Four icons should appear at the bottom of your screen tap, Wallpaper and style
3. Tap My wallpapers to choose from a wide variety of preloaded wallpapers
4. Choose your wallpaper to view a preview
5. If you’re happy, tap Set on Lock and Home Screens
2. Using an image stored on your device
1. Tap and hold on an empty spot on your home screen
2. Tap Wallpaper and style at the bottom of the screen
3. Tap Gallery and select your preferred image
4. Choose where you would like to set the wallpaper and you’re done!
3. Changing the Colour Palette
1. Tap and hold on the homescreen
2. Tap Wallpaper and style
3. Tap Colour palette
4. Choose a palette based on colour recommendations from your wallpaper
Customising Galaxy Widgets
Widgets have been redesigned to look better than ever with the latest One UI. What's more, you can now quickly scroll through the widget list to see what’s available from each app. Here’s how:
1. Tap and hold on your home screen
2. Tap Widgets
3. You’ll see preloaded app widgets such as Calendar, Weather and Reminders as well as Widgets for apps that you have downloaded.
4. Once you have decided which widgets you want, tap the dropdown arrow for each app.
5. Select the exact widget layout
6. Tap, hold down and move to position the widget on your home screen

Customising your home screen settings
It’s not just about images and colour palettes, you can even change the grid layout on your home screen so you can choose how much space your widgets can use. To change the grid size, follow the steps below:
1. Tap and hold on your home screen
2. Tap Settings
3. Tap home screen layout
4. Choose from: 4x5, 4x6, 5x5, 5x6
5. Tap save to activate your chosen grid layout
