2. Find your sources of light

When it comes to taking a good photo, spend some time exploring the setting and lighting options around you. Lighting impacts the mood, tone and atmosphere of your photo so the more natural light the better. Ideally, you’ll want to forget the flash and make the most of any natural light available.
The most impressive shots often focus on just one interesting subject within the wider setting so when taking a photo spend some time thinking about positioning and proportion. Position your subjects so they’re well-lit from the front and avoid strong artificial light from behind. You’ll also want to factor in negative space (the area around the subject) to ensure your subject really stands out. Think about what you have around you that you can harness to create interest in your photo. For example, water can create breath taking reflections, whilst stormy skies create a foreboding ambience. Look for symmetry, repetitive patterns, and leading lines all of which can be extremely pleasing to the eye and help to create an awesome photo. With the latest Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6, night photography is easy thanks to advanced AI enabled Nightography.

Whether you're taking pictures of friends at a festival or working on a landscape shot using the rule of thirds, placing points of interest along the lines or intersections will ensure your photo is well balanced. Dividing your shot into three distinct areas will allow your viewers to interact with it more naturally and will ensure you create wonderful photos for all to enjoy.

Follow the simple steps below to turn on gridlines on your Samsung Galaxy phone:
1. Open Camera app
2. Tap Settings
3. Switch and tap on Gridlines to activate
4. Tab Back to return to the camera screen with grid lines shown in the camera interface

Think about depth, height and angles - there’s a whole world out there to explore. Whatsmore with innovative Flex mode on the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 you can adjust the angle of your phone, step back and get creative. How can I fix blurry pictures?

Nothing is more frustrating when it comes to photography than a blurry picture. Taking the time to capture the perfect shot only to realise it’s been compromised. If you’re finding your photos are blurry check out our quick tips for fabulous blur free photos below.

1. Use a Tripod
While it might be obvious, a shaky hand is a sure way to create
blur. To minimise the risk of blur and maximise the clarity of your
photo use a tripod or stable surface to keep your phone in one
position. If you’re looking to take a panoramic photo or track a
moving object, try to avoid fast movements in order to help
prevent blurring. With the Galaxy Z Fold6 and the Galaxy Z
Flip6 you never have to worry about shaky hands with Flex Mode,
allowing you to prop your phone up hands-free.

2. Make sure your camera lens is clean
Using a soft, lint free, microfibre cloth gently wipe the camera lens to remove any dirt or debris. It’s important to avoid getting any moisture into any opening so do not apply liquid solutions to your phone.

3. Keep your distance
If you are too close to your subject the camera will not be able to focus
and photos will appear blurry. Try moving away from your subject,
you’re aiming to be at least 30cm (12 inches) away for the perfect
photo. The sensational Optical 10x Zoom lens on the Galaxy S24
Ultra will have the best results from 80cm (32 inches) away and if
you’re using the telephoto lens on the Galaxy Z Fold6 aim for 50cm (20
inches) to ensure the correct focus.

4. Check the lighting
If there's too much light shining directly at the camera it can cause areas of under and over exposure. An underexposed photo can appear fuzzy or blurry. Your camera will automatically adjust the exposure to get enough light but it might have trouble focusing in some lighting so it’s worth changing to a different position or setting to see if this helps with blurry photos.

If you’re taking photos in low light settings, your pictures may become
blurry. Adding more sources of lights such as using a ring light can help
with night time photography. But if you don’t want to invest in more
photography equipment, the innovative technologies in Samsung
smartphones nowadays allows you to capture and edit professional
images without an expensive camera. The latest smartphones such as
the Galaxy S24 Ultra Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 come
equipped with the best night mode features and epic editing tools to
help you create the best images possible. These flagship phones are also
highly intuitive to use so whether you're an expert photographer or a
beginner you can be safe in the knowledge that your photos will look
polished and professional.

5. Check for software updates
If you’re having problems with your Camera app it’s a good idea to check for updates as a fix for the problem may have been released. Find out more about how to update the software on your Galaxy smartphone here.
