Rise of the Tomb Raider (2015)
Rise of the Tomb Raider follows Lara Croft as she ventures into Siberia in search of the legendary city of Kitezh. In her quest, she must battle Trinity, an organisation scheming to uncover the city’s promise of immortality. The world of the game was created to reflect Lara’s distorted mental state, while the designers took inspiration from Russian realists, Greek architecture and Byzantine culture. It all contributes to a vibrant colour palette that’s as large as the game itself. Immerse yourself in Lara Croft’s deadliest adventure yet with QLED TV.
Ori and the Blind Forest (2015)
Ori and the Blind Forest is a platform-adventure game where players control Ori, a white guardian spirit, and Sein, the ‘light and eyes’ of the Forest’s Spirit Tree. Players move between platforms and solve puzzles to progress through the game. Since its release in 2015, Ori has been critically-acclaimed for its lush, gorgeous art, touching narrative and clever gameplay. The design was specifically influenced by classic hand-drawn animated movies including Studio Ghibli’s Princess Mononoke and Hayao Miyazaki’s Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. You’ll notice these influences as you move across levels – the colours of the trees and overall graphics morph and change to stunning effect.
Firewatch (2016)
Firewatch follows a fire lookout named Henry in the Shoshone National Forest in Wyoming, America, a year after the Yellowstone fires of 1988. A first-person journey through the wilderness, this game explores themes of solitude and space. Amber reds and ocean blues feature throughout the game’s visual style, giving a mystical view of one of Amercia’s most famous forests.
Night in the Woods (2017)
Night in the Woods is a single-player exploration game about an anthropomorphic female cat named Mae. Mae dropped out of college and returns to her slowly dying hometown to find that a lot has changed since she left. A fantastic narrative and beautiful design combine to deliver a town full of loving characters, with a sinister story lurking just beneath the surface. Think you’ve got what it takes to uncover the town’s secrets?
Gorogoa (2017)
Puzzle fans will love this. In Gorogoa, players manipulate four images in a two-by-two grid and, to advance, must arrange and combine the images to find a common connection between them. Jason Roberts, the sole creator and developer of the game, initially planned for it to be an interactive graphic novel. As such, each scene is drawn by hand to visually stunning effect. Scottish painter David Roberts and American cartoonist Chris Ware are among many of the artistic influences on this picturesque puzzle game. Give yourself a mental workout while enjoying the artistry on a QLED TV.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey (2018)
Ever wondered what Greece, 431 BC would be like? Assassin’s Creed Odyssey might be your best chance to find out. In this action role-playing game, players control a mercenary who fights for both Athens and Sparta during a fictional history of the Peloponnesian War. Why? To unite their family and uncover a cult. THe game is rich in detail, so the higher the resolution, the better Odyssey looks. Make sure your settings are set for gameplay then experience a vibrant piece of classicism.
