Set up a network connection on your Samsung Smart TV
Your Samsung Smart TV can be connected to the internet using a wireless or wired network connection. Connecting to a network provides access to various apps and services, and allows you to control your home's smart devices from the screen. The instructions in our guide will help you connect your TV to a network.
Note: To use smart features, you must connect to a network, agree to the terms and conditions, and sign in with a Samsung Account.
Connecting to a Wi-Fi network is the easiest and most seamless way to access the internet on your TV. Make sure you have your wireless network name (SSID) and password before trying to connect.
Note: If no wireless access point is found, select Add Network at the bottom of the list and enter the network name (SSID).
Notes:
- To connect to a wireless network, the wireless network function must be active.
- If needed, you can enable or disable the Wi-Fi connection. Select Settings, then select All Settings, then select Connection, and then select Network. Select Expert Settings, and then select and enable the Wi-Fi network.
You can also connect your TV to a wired network.
Notes:
- To connect a LAN cable, use a CAT 7 (STP type) cable for the connection (100/10 Mbps, Shielded Twisted Pair).
- The TV will not be able to connect to the network if your network speed is below 10 Mbps.
- Wired networks are not supported on some models.
Resetting your TV’s network settings reverts the settings to their factory defaults. This is helpful if you’re experiencing network issues or need to update your network setup.
Note: If you need detailed guidance on setting up your internet connection, refer to the previous sections above on connecting your Samsung TV to the internet using either a wired or wireless method.
You can locate your TV’s MAC address in the Settings menu if it is needed for network security purposes, network connection issues, or troubleshooting.
Notes:
- If you are having trouble with your Samsung Smart TV, you can check for available software updates, as these may contain a solution to your problem.
- Device screenshots and menus may vary depending on the device model and software version.
